Self-Esteem: The Joy of Being Myself

At West Coast Warriors, self-esteem is one of the core life skills we teach. What is self-esteem? Simply put, it's the joy of being myself.


Having a positive self-esteem helps us stay motivated to take on life's challenges and contributes to our overall well-being.


Accomplishing our goals in martial arts, or just life in general, becomes much easier when we have a healthy level of self-esteem.


There's a lot of things we can do to improve our self-esteem, and of course, different strategies work for different people. We can start by really getting to know ourselves, and finding out what makes us happy. Make a list if it's easier. We can also take the time each day to celebrate our successes, no matter how big or small they are. Lastly, take care of yourself. A good night's sleep, a healthy diet, time outside, and physical activity can go a long way.


Remember, these are just a few starting tips to help improve your self-esteem. Ultimately, you have to do what works for you. We'll see you in class!
